"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

About Me...

Last week I was challenged by an assignment that one of my teachers gave. The assignment was to create a positioning statement but instead of doing it for a company we were to create the positioning statement about our self. For those who know me well the following may come as a shock..I was at a loss for words. I have trouble putting into words who I am or what as my teacher stated "..are my unique attributes". One would think that describing ones self would be simple but I find it to be one of the most difficult tasks. The point is that this assignment got me thinking when asked to introduce myself or to fill out an "About Me" section what should I include?

This is what I have came up with so far:

I am a daughter, sister, girlfriend, friend, student, cousin, niece, and granddaughter. I like to think that I am friendly and most of the time outgoing. I usually have something to say and appreciate when people listen. I always like to have a plan though I am aware that life is full of the unexpected. My family and loved ones mean everything to me. Two of my favorite people in the whole world live over 3,000 miles away and although I want them to be happy what is best for them, I  often find it difficult not having them with me every day.I love learning and think that school is one of the most important things.I believe that education is crucial for intellectual development and appreciate the fact that I have access to a higher education.I have a passion for reading, which I like to attribute to my Nana and mother for always reading to me and taking me to the library as a child. I have a lot of patience with people but lack patience for simple activities such as coloring and doing puzzles. I am clumsy and uncoordinated, therefore sports aren't really my thing although I love to watch them. I would consider myself "girly" due to my love for shopping, make-up, and dressing up and I don't think that being "girly" makes one superficial. I am slightly high strung and tend to worry so I am always finding new ways to relax and "go with the flow". I find Yoga helpful and think everyone should try it (at least once). I believe that all people should be treated with respect and find those who are intolerant of others intolerable. I believe that everything happens for a reason although many times I am unaware of what the reason is. I believe in karma and the "golden rule" or as Justin Timberlake would say, "what goes around comes back around." Lastly, I think that everyone has the right to be happy and should do whatever it takes to find it because negativity is a killer.

Well that pretty much sums it up (for now)..whoever said Blogging can be therapeutic is a genius! :)

Entering the World of Blogging

Lately I have been considering starting a blog. It is something that has been in the back of my mind and something that I could not seem to wrap my head around. When blogging entered my mind I would always think, well if I start a blog what should I focus it on? Many thoughts ran through my mind--book reviews, fashion, photos, interesting things that occurred that day--I just could not seem to decide what I should center it around and today it came to me, how about a little of everything! There are no set rules for starting a blog it can be about anything I choose. I don't have to travel all around the world or stalk celebrities for the latest news. I can just write what I fee like writing, share what I feel like sharing, people can choose to read or not. A teacher showed a video in class the other day about blogging and one of the men in the discussion said something that stood out to me "Blogging is one of the most therapeutic activities" or something of that nature. After hearing that I was pushed even further toward the idea of creating this blog. So here I am, I have officially entered the world of blogging.  Lets see where it takes me.
